I am writing to you all to share my heart. I am choosing to put myself in a vulnerable place because I think God is calling us as His children now more than ever to a stronger place of transparency. In a world of perfectly posed social media posts, I want to be real.

One of our Porch favorites from back in her high school days, has had an apartment fire and lost everything.
We are collecting gift cards to Market Basket, Walmart and Marshalls to give to her. You can get them to me and I will give her everything we collect this weekend!

Even though we don't hear from many of these teenagers we spent so much of our time with, I would still do ANYTHING for them.
I have so many memories of my days spent with them, and these boys were definitely some of my favorites...I did have a lot of faves though :)

It is so easy to get stressed out by what is going on now, that you forget the good of the past.
So this November, we are taking some time to make sure we
DON'T FORGET THE GOOD!
We will be reminiscing on all the good things from the past and making sure we stay thankful!

I have spent countless hours praying that every teen in this town would know how much we love them and how much God loves them.

Even though The Porch has not been officially open for a while (still no spot for us yet!) Epping Lighthouse is STILL working hard at many community projects! We are working towards something that will offer community service projects so that we can encourage our teens to be giving back!
We would love to have you join us at our masquerade ball and see how YOU can be a part of something bigger than yourself!

I miss this.
I put hundreds of hours into making sure there was a safe, fun place for teens to come after school.
I worked here three days a week after school, and almost never missed a day.
I never got paid a penny, and rarely got thanked.

And I would be doing it still if we had a building!
I loved these kids, and I LOVED being with them.
I Prayed for them every day...still do.

Having no space to meet is so incredibly difficult to deal with, but we are just trusting God that he has something bigger than we could ever imagine!
We are still working at finding a place, and we won't quit until we do!

HEYYYY Teens and graduates and parents of teens and graduates!!
As we continue to look for a new building to meet (Because we HATE not having The Porch open!!!) We are still raising money for when we find one...and we have confidence that we will!

So many have been asking about The Porch lately.
Quick details:
1. We did not EVER want to close. Our lease was not renewed, and we had no choice when we moved.
2. We are constantly looking for a new space so we can reopen and we miss hanging out with the teens!
3. We believe that every story matters and we are always available to any teenager (or those of you who used to come in to The Porch, but are now too old!) who needs someone to listen.
4. We believe it so much, that I will give my personal cell number so any teenager can call or text whenever they need something. 603.339.0591
