We are currently traveling back to Ephrata following a great Washington HOSA State Leadership Conference. We took 21 students, only 5 of which a had attended with us last year. Students engaged with educators and professionals in the Healthcare field, heard from speakers about Healthcare professions and most got to participate in hands on workshops about various healthcare industries. One student got to participate in a cadaver lab where she held an actual human heart and got to touch the spinal cord! How cool is that?! We are hoping that this experience creates a spark in them to grow and participate and plan more club activities next year!

We would like to highlight Navi Kaur, who was our first student to participate in the second round of state competition. She competed against 29 other students from across the state. She gave a 9 minute presentation to a panel of judges about the career of a Family Medicine Physician. While official scores are not available unless you qualify for the international conference, I think Navi learned alot and is motivated to compete at a higher level next year. We are excited to see what she can accomplish with 2 more years in EHS HOSA!
