Ascension Winter Guard

Ascension Winter Guard We are now a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called Together We Rise. We sponsor Ascension Winter Guard, which is now an all-age winter guard. is welcome.

This means anyone from 14.5 through ?? We are going on 12 years of existence. We won multiple Region 6 TIA Novice and IRA championships. We have also won multiple MAIN Novice and ISR championships. We pride ourselves on having low dues and scholarships for those in need.

We are happy to report that our show has been completely blocked. Now is the fun part! We fill in the fancy stuff, and make things more entertaining. It has been refreshing to do a light show this season. Most of our music is recognizable, and our one song was and still is pretty popular. It has been such a pleasure to work with this group. Hard workers and good performers. The newbies are behind, but the experienced members are lighting it up. We have a contest this weekend at Avon Grove. Remember the show is blocked, it is not filled, so you won't get the total effect, but with losing time due to snow, and our facility being used on the day we rehearse, it is not bad. A shout out to - Your software has made life so much easier and consistent. Thank you 's for the beautiful flags. Here is just one picture from our first show!!!

A quick update. Things are going quite well with our mixed age group. The show is also coming along quite nicely and dare it be said, better than last year. The costumes are in the mail. The multiple props are being worked on and two of our three songs are 3/4 finished. The focus is still strong with everyone still working harder than in the past. They seem to be pushing each other to learn harder and harder skills. Our movement is light years what it has been in the past with Miss Amber really working the basics!!

Reminder that Together We Rise / Ascension his hosting a spaghetti dinner on January 24th. It begins at 4:00 and will run until 6:00. There is carry out available and there are raffle items available as well. It is being held at Alive Church in Ephrata and the cost is $15.00 per person.

4pm-530pm dinner served dine in and take out or until supplies last
530-6pm raffles distributed

Spaghetti dinner with roll, salad, dessert and drink $15 per meal donation

As my friend Kim likes to say, "S**t is getting real." Having members that run the age gamut is definitely interesting. There is so much respect for each other all ready it is amazing. People encouraging and helping each other. Members already achieving beyond what they thought their limits were. Breaking boundaries for themselves. I think the name covers it - we are Ascending to new heights. Right now, the season seems long, but before you know it, it will be March and we will be wondering where the season went. I am so pleased at how productive our long rehearsals are. By the end people are beat, but that will change. We also have to learn to conserve a little at the beginning. Truly a new beginning heading down a different road. Tomorrow will be another day on the voyage.

Things are going very well for us this season. Every rehearsal is like a new voyage into the unknown. It is fun and exciting. Due to transportation issues, we have lost two members (they were in the high school age group). We still have two openings if you or someone you know might be interested in marching, message us on here. It may take a day to get back to you, but someone will.

Ascension All-Age winter guard is off and running. First rehearsal yesterday. If you have not found a winter home yet, and you are looking for one, consider giving us a shot. We are ages 15-63 and some with a lot of experience and some with little. You just need to show up and be present when you do. "phoning it in" will not work. Leave us a message if you are interested.

Wow!! What an amazing first rehearsal we had. Since we started this summer, we have doubled our size, so going all-age, at least from that perspective has been a plus. Hard workers like I have never seen. Members pushing themselves beyond their limits. We also managed to block about the first minute of the show. We worked together to figure out a couple parts, and once they were, we cooked. We even ended a little early. We do have members now from up to two hours away and inwards. We even have a member from Maryland. Working with a new staff yesterday was exciting, heck this is all exciting. We are still taking new members up until Nov 9th. Please message here if you have questions or are interested. We really have members from 15 to 63.

Sunday, Nov 2nd, the first rehearsal for Ascension. This will be at Alive Church from 12:30 - 5:30. Rehearsals will slowly get longer. We will begin our regular rehearsal routine, including the commencement of blocking the show. The show is designed to be fun and chill. Below is last year's A guard. Ya gotta love those Penn Manor and Ephrata girls!
