We’re happy to announce another year of Paul Lauzier Scholarship recipients! 257 scholarships totaling $940,000 will be awarded to Grant County graduating seniors and alumni attending college and vocational programs in Washington state. Congratulations! 🎉

Alumni have been notified via email, and graduating seniors will be announced at each school district’s award ceremony.

With the emergence of AI, we feel it’s appropriate to state our position moving forward.

Thank you to those who wrote their own content in the application, as we’ve shared how impactful your authentic thoughts, feelings and perspectives are to us.

We want to know the REAL YOU. It’s the reason why we do this. Your hearts and minds are powerful, and you’re perfectly capable of expressing what’s inside.

AI absolutely serves a purpose. We have no issue with students using the tools that technology offers for improving the quality of an application’s spelling, punctuation and sentence structure.

With that said, we intend to keep the human element of our process intact. We have no interest in reading applications created by robots. If you’re willing to take the time to craft your own content, we look forward to seeing your application in the future. The next deadline is Monday, March 1, 2027.

As the campaign ends and the new Samaritan hospital soon opens its doors, it’s hard to believe this dream is now a reality. After the privilege of touring the facility last night, goosebumps, smiles, and a few happy tears remain today.

The conversations began years ago, but we pulled the trigger for $1,000,000.00 in 2024 and never looked back. Thank you to Gretchen and Alayna at Samaritan for presenting the concept of the Paul Lauzier Surgical & Infusion Center to us. We had a shared vision for improving access to care across the greater Columbia Basin for years to come. Reality exceeds our dreams for this grant by far.
