Ephrata Cloister Post 429 Welcome to Ephrata Cloister Post 429! We are Ephrata’s local hub dedicated to heroes and widely consider one of Ephrata’s best kept secrets!

The American Legion was chartered as a patriotic, mutual-help, and community-service organization. Since the 50’s it has become the largest service organization in the world. The Legion family totals over 5 million members consisting of nearly 3 million Legionnaires and 2 million members in the American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion (supports Legionnaires). The organization has

stood by its longstanding objectives by continuing to be a watchdog as well as an advocate of veterans programs and benefits. The institution contributes on a continuing basis to the Nation's quality of life through a variety of youth programs and endeavors to make American communities better places in which to live. Today with 700 members we also continue to serve our community. We support the Legion Ball Team, Boy Scouts of America, Ephrata soccer, the Coatesville Veterans Hospital, Meals on Wheels, award scholarships, and aid the local Veterans home on Church Street, just to name a few. The Ephrata Post is no longer rich in land and resources. Over the decades most of the land was either donated to the community or sold because of financial difficulties. The Big Band sound coming from the park, the Eicher Hotel which housed famous guests and the roller rink are no longer visible but the Ephrata American Legion Post 429 is.
