CRMO is a chronic, painful, and challenging autoinflammatory disease that occurs when the immune system attacks the bones, causing inflammation. It mainly affects children and adolescents, with an average age of onset of 10 years old. CRMO symptoms can come and go, but with treatment, the condition often goes into remission. However, symptoms can return at any time.

The exact cause of CRMO is unknown, but it may be related to genetic and environmental factors
