💧🌱 Meet Ben, Our Official Water Conservationist 🌱💧

Every great farm needs a hero, and around here, Ben has taken the job seriously.

Armed with a watering can and a big heart, he's making sure every plant gets just what it needs. No drop wasted. No tomato left thirsty. Just one little farmhand doing his part to help things grow.

The truth is, conservation starts with simple lessons. When children learn where food comes from and why water matters, they're learning skills that will last a lifetime.

Today Ben reminded us that caring for the earth doesn't require a big title or a fancy degree. Sometimes it just takes a small watering can, a little patience, and a whole lot of love.

🌿 Future farmer.
💧 Water conservationist.
🌱 Growing plants and character at the same time.

That's the kind of learning we love at Generations Forward Learning Farm. ❤️

Attended the Operation Grow Boot Camp learning all kinds of good things about farming, business, and growing with purpose. Even better I saw my friends from Alabama A&M University small farm research center! ❤️🤍

And baby, let me tell you... every time I think I know a little, God puts me in a room that reminds me there's so much more to learn.

I left inspired, encouraged, and excited for what's ahead at the farm.

That's the beautiful thing about growth. The moment you think you've arrived, there's another seed waiting to be planted.

And for that, I'm grateful. ❤️🌱

There’s just something about little muddy boots, fresh rain, and tiny hands picking plums straight from the tree that feels like childhood done right. 🍑🌧️

Today’s homeschool lesson looked a little different at Generations Forward Learning Farm.

We counted plums.
We talked about how rain helps fruit grow.
We learned where food really comes from.
We practiced patience, observation, colors, textures, and gratitude for the land.

No worksheets.
No desks.
Just real life learning under cloudy skies with sweet fruit and even sweeter memories.

This is the kind of education kids remember forever.

“Stay wild, farm child.” 🌻

Red, white, and BLACKberries 🇺🇸❤️🫐

Baby, this is what Southern summers are made of.

Early morning berry picking before the Alabama heat rolls in, purple fingertips, sweet juice stains, and a cup full of sunshine straight from the vine

These blackberries are showing OUT this year, and I’m already dreaming about homemade blackberry syrup over hot biscuits 😭👏🏾

And listen… y’all better get ready because we finally have enough berries for U Pick season at the farm 👀

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

From all of us at Generations Forward Learning Farm, thank you to those who served and to the families who carry their legacy forward. Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Today was crop certification day at Generations Forward Learning Farm and let me tell y’all… Beth and Drew were OUT THERE logging, certifying, counting, and walking the entire food forest with us 180 fruit trees, edible vines, and our vegetable fields (3 acres). 🍓🍇🌳

Honestly, moments like this hit different because people see the pretty flowers and fruit, but behind every thriving farm is hard work, compliance, records, vision, and a team making sure everything is done RIGHT 👏🏽

One thing about Gen Forward…
We are building this farm with excellence from the ground up. Always in compliance. Always learning. Always growing. 💚

AND the sweetest part?
Today was Beth’s birthday and she still chose to spend it at the farm with us 🥹🎉

That deserves a HUGE happy birthday and all the love today because dedication like that matters.

From one tiny seed of vision to a fully documented food forest and learning farm…
We’re just getting started ✨

Today at Generations Forward Learning Farm, our youth stepped into the world of floral design and flower processing during our Cut Flower Education Class 🌹✨

Kamiya learned how to properly process roses by stripping leaves, trimming stems, sorting blooms, and preparing flowers for preservation and future products. What may look like “just flowers” is actually introducing our children to an entire industry full of entrepreneurship, agriculture, art, science, and business opportunities.

We want our youth to see that farming is more than planting seeds. It can lead to careers in floristry, botanical product creation, event design, skincare, herbal wellness, and luxury handmade goods.

Stay tuned because our youth will eventually be creating and selling products such as:
🌹 Rose oil
🌹 Floral waters
🌹 Dried flower crafts
🌹 Botanical gifts
🌹 Farm fresh bouquets
🌹 Herbal and floral products

Watching Kamiya carefully process each flower reminded me that exposure creates opportunity ❤️

At Generations Forward Learning Farm, we are not just growing flowers. We are growing future leaders, creators, and entrepreneurs.
