Girls Night Out Round Up Raises $20,000 for Local Breast Cancer Support Services
What began as a fun evening of shopping, fellowship, and celebrating the strength of women has grown into something far greater: a community-wide effort making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families facing breast cancer.
In 2016, the Downtown Enterprise Business Association (DEBA) launched the first Girls Night Out with high hopes that the community would embrace theconcept. Ten years later, that vision has blossomed into one of Downtown Enterprise's most anticipated events and a significant source of financial support for local breast cancer patients. Today, Friends of Main Street proudly celebrates a remarkable milestone with the presentation of a $20,000 donation to Coffee County Family Services Center, designated to provide much-needed breast cancer support services within the local community.
Event Organizer, Regena Lacey, shared "The growth of this charitable effort has been extraordinary. In 2020, Girls Night Out contributed $1,000 toward breast cancer support. By 2023, that donation had grown to $5,000. Now, in 2026, the event has reached an impressive $20,000 contribution-demonstrating the power of a community united around a meaningful cause." This year's western-themed Girls Night Out Roundup 2026 brought together hundreds of enthusiastic participants, downtown merchants, local businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners in a celebration of generosity and Southern hospitality.
The event's success reflects a true community collaboration. Every sponsorship, ticket purchase, 5K and Fun Run registration, merchant contribution, and individual donation played a role in reaching this milestone. The continued support of City of Enterprise staff and services, participating downtown businesses, and dedicated volunteers has been instrumental in making the event a success. Coffee County Family Services serves as the administering organization for these funds, helping ensure that contributions directly address the practical and financial challenges experienced by individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment and recovery.
Judy Crowley, Director of Coffee County Family Services, expressed tremendous gratitude for the donation, noting that these contributions provide valuable additional resources beyond the organization's grant-funded operations. Crowley said, "For many individuals facing breast cancer, the challenges extend well beyond medical treatment. The funds can help provide essential assistance during their journey."
Assistance provided includes: Transportation assistance for chemotherapy, radiation, and medical
appointments. Childcare support that allows parents to receive treatment while ensuring their children are cared for. Groceries and household essentials for families experiencing financial hardship due to illness. Housing and utility assistance, including help with rent, mortgage payments, and essential household bills. Prescription expenses, wigs, and head coverings to help ease the financial and emotional burdens of treatment. Housekeeping and other practical assistance for individuals whose strength and mobility may be limited during treatment and recovery.
These contributions represent much more than financial assistance by offering reassurance to individuals facing one of life's most difficult journeys that they are supported, valued, and not alone. DEBA Friends of Main Street extends its heartfelt appreciation to the sponsors, merchants, volunteers, city personnel, and countless community members whose generosity and enthusiasm continue to make Girls Night Out possible.
From a hopeful beginning in 2016 to a $20,000 donation in 2026, Girls Night Out demonstrates what can happen when a community comes together with compassion, generosity, and a shared purpose. What started as a night of fun has become a lasting legacy of hope.
