BIG NEWS! Flying B is honored to have been awarded a grant from the Jason Heigl Foundation for the Namaste Spay & Neuter Initiative. In October, November, December, and January, we will be partnering with Dehart Veterinary Services on our regular 2nd Tuesday of the month visits at Walmart Ennis to provide FREE spays and neuters.

Appointments are required with a $15 deposit and can be scheduled on Dehart's website or by calling/emailing them directly.

With this generous grant, Flying B and our Snip It in the Bud program will continue our quest to FIX 'EM ALL!

We have incredibly sad news to share. We picked up Dodge this morning and went straight to Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Midlothian. Dodge went immediately into triage for pain meds, light sedation, and a LOT of x-rays, ultrasound, and other diagnostics. The news was not good.

The extent of Dodge’s injuries was beyond what was responsible to try to fix. While he looked okay on the outside, the hit he took caused significant internal injuries and organs were in places they didn’t belong. He was bleeding internally. On top of that, both hips were broken.

Dodge never growled or made any aggressive moves. He knew the people surrounding him from the moment Ferris Animal Services - Fetch Squad picked him up were there to help him.

We held Dodge’s paws and stroked his ears as we helped Dodge pass peacefully across the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈

We can’t thank Todd enough for making sure Dodge was as comfortable as possible until we could get him. Thank you Dr. Marquez for your wisdom, candor, and compassion.

You were a good boy.

We always love getting the chance to get out, meet people, talk dogs, and share a little more about what we do at Flying B.

A big thank you to Freshpet volunteers and the Community Outreach Program for having us. The dogs loved the attention and this was an amazing opportunity for them to socialize and get exposure to different environments.

We are overflowing with fluffies. And as much as we love a fluffy kiss, we know they deserve a home and people of their very own.

Meet Chanel.

Chanel came to Flying B Rescue from a local shelter in July with ongoing digestive issues. After months of TLC, specialist care, and some trial and error, we finally believe we have her feeling well and her gut issues under control.

And now we’re getting to see the real Chanel!

She is the sweetest little shadow. With her gorgeous dark gray coat, she’s literally a shadow… and figuratively, because she wants to be wherever you are. She’s quiet, patient, and would much rather cuddle with her person than be the center of the action.

Now that she’s feeling better, her energy is up and she’s becoming more engaged with the other dogs.

Chanel has come so far. Now she needs a family who will be just as committed to her continued care as we’ve been to getting her well.

She’s ready for her forever.

One of the things that Flying B does is short-term foster shelter dogs that are headed out-of-state. This lifesaving partnership with Friends of Ferris Animal Services saved a life this weekend by freeing up kennel space.

So….meet Grace. Grace will be staying with us until 9/10 when she heads for the Big Apple.

Who’s ready for a face reveal???

Welcome to Flying B, Ralph. 💙

Ralph was picked up as a stray in Palmer and spent his stray hold at the shelter before making his way to us.

He came in severely matted, with sores and raw patches of skin underneath all that fur. Along with an issue in his eye that’s being addressed.

A huge thank you to Howdy Paws Grooming Co. for helping us get Ralph cleaned up and comfortable. ❤️ And to all of the groomers who have reached out and offered to help Flying B with dogs like Ralph — we see you, we appreciate you, and we are incredibly grateful to have people willing to step up when these guys need it most.

For now, Ralph is safe, he’s comfortable, and he doesn’t have to worry about what’s next.

We fully support this! Fluoxetine is Prozac and it has done wonders for one of Carolyn's family dogs that had issues with managing her escalation response. Before you give up and surrender your dog, please talk to your vet to see if behavior modification meds are an option for your pet. VetMed has come a long way from what was historically available.
