Last night at 11:48 pm Glade Creek VFD along with mutual aid departments were Dispatched to a structure fire on highway 18N. After units arrived it was confirmed everyone was out of the house. Firemen worked on overhaul up into the morning. GCVFD would like to thank our mutual aid partners for another job well done. Also this serves as an example of smoke detectors saving lives!!!!!

Today around 3:30 pm GCVFD was dispatched to a search for a missing person. Crews began searching for the subject. After some time the subject was located and crews from all agencies began removing the patient back to the road where they were met by an Alleghany rescue squad ambulance. GCVFD would like to send a HUGE thank you to all of our mutual aid partners for a job well done for a positive outcome!

The Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry will be at Glade Creek Volunteer Fire Department tomorrow morning beginning at 9:00 AM.

🔥 HEADS UP: High Fire Danger has returned to most of the state, a result of abnormally dry fuel conditions further exacerbated by high temperatures low relative humidity, and gusty SW winds of 10-25MPH, resulting in high fire danger across most of North Carolina! This will continue this afternoon and into Sunday.

Fire fuels could easily ignite and spread rapidly in these conditions. Residents and visitors to the area are urged to properly dispose of cigarette butts, matches, and any other flammable items in appropriate containers. Exercise caution if operating any equipment that could create sparks, and keep vehicles off dry leaves and grass.
