Cherokee Strip Community Foundation CSCF is a 501(c)3 grantmaking public charity dedicated to improving the lives of Northwest Oklahomans

The Cherokee Strip Community Foundation (CSCF) is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization created by and for the benefit of those in the Cherokee Strip region. We believe that Enid & Northwest Oklahoma cares and can support the work of nonprofits that provide quality of life to our citizens. We engage donors throughout our region to improve lives and effect positive change, primarily through the development and administration of endowment funds.

“We probably don’t qualify.”
That’s what most nonprofits and communities think when they see a grant opportunity.

Great news! If your nonprofit is working to improve childcare access, expand mental health services, recruit healthcare providers, support workforce development, or address housing challenges—you may already be aligned.

Community Catalyst Grants are designed for organizations doing meaningful, local work and are ready to take the next step.

You don’t need a perfect program. You need a clear purpose. And if you’re already serving your community, you’re closer than you think.

Up to $15,000 is available, and applications close June 30.
Don’t count yourself out before you start.

When disaster strikes, generosity needs a trusted way to take action.

After the April 23 EF4 tornado, Cherokee Strip Community Foundation activated the Disaster Relief Fund to help support local recovery through trusted community partners.

But our work does not begin or end in moments of crisis.

Every day, CSCF helps people give together to address the needs that shape life in Northwest Oklahoma: childcare, mental health, healthcare access, workforce opportunity, and affordable housing.

Because a stronger community is not built in one moment.
It is built by people who choose to act together.

Learn how your generosity can support urgent needs today and long-term solutions for tomorrow: Cherokeestripcf.com

Walter P. Scheffe, a respected Enid pharmacist, believed in giving that reflected his values—and created an impact that would last far beyond his lifetime.

By starting a conversation with Cherokee Strip Community Foundation, he established a charitable fund designed to support local nonprofits for generations.

Today, the Scheffe Fund helps fuel CSCF’s Matching Endowment Fund, making it possible for 9–11 donors each year to receive a $5,000 match and begin building permanent endowments of their own.

One donor’s vision continues to inspire others, strengthen nonprofits across Northwest Oklahoma, and grow long-term community impact.

Nearly 100 nonprofit leaders from 41 organizations came together in March to learn, connect, and share ideas. For one day, they stepped away from daily demands to focus on strengthening their organizations—building relationships, gaining practical insight, and learning alongside others facing many of the same challenges.

That is why opportunities like the Impact Enid Nonprofit Summit matter, and why we were proud to be a sponsor.

Supporting nonprofits is about more than funding programs. Behind every service a nonprofit provides is an organization working to meet growing needs with limited time, limited staff, and constant pressure to keep going.

Empowering nonprofits means investing in the people and organizations behind the work. When nonprofits are stronger, they are better able to respond to changing needs, serve more people, and stay focused on their missions.

If you are looking for a trusted way to help, we have activated our Disaster Relief Fund to support those impacted most. We work alongside local nonprofits and partners on the ground to ensure resources are directed where they are needed most.

Community foundations are built for moments like this - connecting generosity with real needs in real time.

Five percent. That’s all it takes to change the future of our region.

In the next 10 years, families in our region will pass on more than $690 million to the next generation. If just 5% were given back to the community, it would create an endowment of $34.5 million—money that would work forever for:

Community-led projects.
Child care families can count on.
Stronger nonprofits.
Arts, parks, and community spaces that enrich all our lives.

Giving that 5% means your kids and grandkids inherit more than money. They’ll inherit a thriving region filled with opportunity, connection, and pride.

It’s your legacy. It’s the gift that never stops giving back.

👉 Talk with us today to see how Cherokee Strip Community Foundation can help you put the power of 5% to work—for your family, your neighbors, and generations to come. https://www.cherokeestripcf.com/staff
