Today is the opening day for park operations at Meadowlake Park, north side! We will be open throughout the summer months until Labor Day.

We have a few rides running this evening; cars, planes, and the carousel. Tomorrow through the rest of the weekend, we hope to have more volunteers.

Let's not forget there are paddle boat rides, putt-putt golf, and a concession stand available too, that are operated separately.

Our train tracks are undergoing repairs, so the train will be closed for a couple of weeks. However, we will keep you updated on when the train will be running.

We had park clean up day today! We are getting closer to being ready for summer!

Hello! This past Wednesday we had Dan with United Way come speak. He brought Rachel McVay with 4RKids. Dan shared with how United Way partners with many organizations and Rachel spoke about the impact United Way has had on their group.

They both discussed the things they can accomplish together and the importance it is to donate or volunteer. United Way does a yearly evaluation of their donations to determine how the funds are best used in our community and other communities within the northwest region of Oklahoma.

4RKids has an event going on tomorrow at Autry Technology Center from 8-4, no cost. This is an event for people with disabilities of all ages. Walk away with knowledge, tools, and confidence to plan for both today’s needs and tomorrow’s care.

The United Way has several events coming up. One of many is on April 11th, this is their Superhero Saturday at North Meadowlake Park in Enid from 9-12:00. Lunch begins at 11:00.

Last week we had the opportunity to learn about the YWCA. Courtney Dennis spoke about the different programs the YWCA offers. Did you know it is not only a women’s resource location but they help men too? They have My Sisters Closet to help with clothing for the family and essential household items for individuals in need. They also have a wonderful program called Project Cinderella to help with formal attire.

Last fiscal year:
142 survivors and their children spent 3002 days in their shelter, safe.
Answered 1,074 calls and texts on their crisis hotline.
Assisted 152 survivors with legal aide and court advocacy.

Honoring our first responders is a true privilege for us. A few weeks ago we were blessed with honoring Officer Matthew Buck with the Officer of the Year award for 2025. He is an outstanding officer and we pray God will bless him and keep him safe.

Please join us next week as we attend the City Commission meeting to honor Officer Buck.
