CASA Volunteers are ordinary people from all walks of life who have a unique and extremely important role in helping preserve the well-being of children and represent their best interests in court. The Fourth JD CASA Program serves 6 counties (Blaine, Garfield, Grant, Kingfisher, Major & Woodward) in NW Oklahoma. We are a Volunteer nonprofit organization who trains members of the communities to ad
vocate and be the voice for children that have been removed from their home due to evidence of abuse or neglect. A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Volunteer is responsible for gathering information that will enable the court to understand the situation of the child. They are in a unique position getting to see all sides of the child's case making independent, objective recommendations in the child's best interest. Reunifying broken families, helping them become healthy and whole is a very important part of an Advocate's job. They help by recommending appropriate services and resources that help support the child throughout their journey in the child welfare system and after. CASA volunteers receive a minimum of 30 hours of training prior to becoming an advocate, learning skills, techniques and courtroom procedures to assist them in becoming the eyes & ears of the child. If you are an adult age 21 or older with the desire and commitment to help an abused or neglected child with good objectivity, communication skills and common sense, Volunteer today! YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! Visit www.fourthjdcasa.org or email [email protected] for more information.
