Shortly after the arrival of The Covid pandemic In Denver Colorado there was a sudden increase in the number of homeless. At the same time The Colorado department of corrections due to health concerns restricted the number of religious volunteers entering the facilities.And as the Lord would have it, when one door closes, Then He is faithful to open up another. Some years prior, I met with some Saints who did nothing but make Baloney sandwiches And feed them to those in need. My wife and I along with others began to visit what now had become Tent Cities with the same thought in mind. However after our initial visit We determined That there was a greater need For more than baloney sandwiches. Several things The homeless have little or no access to is water and toilets for personal hygiene . knowing this we began Taking water and making up hygiene bags for males and females. Words can never describe the reaction of someone who has not brushed their teeth in days Receiving toothbrush and toothpaste, or to see them immediately set down and pull off ragged dirty socks for a clean new pair. A bar of soap,deodorant, face towel along with The Complete Gospel of John are also included.I would be remiss if I didn't mention the love and care that goes into these bags by the people who donate a large amount of time and resource as though it were a care package for their own son or daughter. After years of operating exclusively in the Colorado Department of Corrections, Christian Chaplain Services has decided to expand our operation to encompass a greater range of chaplaincy. There are individuals operating as chaplains independent of any organization in hospitals, Senior Care Facilities, youth facilities, homeless facilities and a variety of other organizations. Partnering with Christian Chaplain Services would not only be a beneficial outlet for those already serving but also for those who are looking for service opportunities and may have an interest in starting up a chaplaincy. If you are interested please respond to this post and we will reach out to you. Our volunteer coordinator will send you the Code of Conduct for CCS and our Statement of Faith. If you are in alignment with our core values and are interested in starting the process to serve as a chaplain in our organization, contact out volunteer coordinator to set up an over the phone or in person interview. Great Commission
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
This is the commission given to the followers of Jesus Christ, the operative word here is go and so it becomes imperative that we respond to this command. God in his wisdom has made it so convenient for us to go not to All Nations in the world but to go to the Department of Corrections. Into our own house so to speak, he has assembled many nations of the world into the Jails as Captives which are of every race and creed . We have the opportunity to witness to men from the Far East from the Middle East, Africa from South America Central and Europe . to name only a few among many . I share the Good News of The of the Kingdom of God to my fellow Americans as well who often times are just as uninformed as our foreign visitors. We are blessed by the Lord to play a role in the restoration of souls to God foremost, to restore marriages and to turn the hearts of the father's back to the children and to send the prodigal home to his Momma.
In the Gospel of Matthew chapter 25 verses 36-40, Jesus tells his followers, “I was in prison and you came to visit me … I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.
We at Christian chaplain services have taken up this mandate to go with the belief that if we sow the seed into the hearts of men God will add the increase. There is some history that indicates some receive The Good Seed and take it back to the country and begin to sow the word of God into their fellow countrymen.
The spiritual Services we provide to the inmates is invaluable but at the same time Christian chaplain services cannot operate without cost. We are supported entirely by the contributions and gifts of the saints.

In 1993, the Colorado legislature passed the Long Bill removing seven full-time prison chaplains from the state payroll. That action has removed essentially all evangelical chaplains from state-sponsored prison ministry.

Our mission is to encourage and financially support evangelical chaplains in a way that will enable them to minister to the spiritual needs of inmates in the Rocky Mountain region on a full-time basis.

There are many exciting areas for volunteer ministry. You, as an individual or a church group, can become involved in serving spiritual needs of inmates and/or their families. One of the chaplains supported through Christian Chaplain Services Inc. can provide guidance to help you get started.
