May is National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month. APF works to support the prevention of teen pregnancy by giving teens a space to critically assess the risks and benefits to sexual activity so they can make informed decisions.

After numerous sessions in The Diamond Standard, focusing on healthy interpersonal skills, we walk participants through four couples engaging in various levels of sexual activity or lack there-of. We offer participants a space to reflect on what the risks and benefits are to those varying levels of sexual activity, so they are able to make an informed decision regarding sexual activity. Here are a couple of pages from this activity in The Diamond Standard.

At A Promising Future we love to support healthy family dynamics by offering The Diamond Standard Parent/Teen Small Group. This small group takes parents and their teens through the curriculum together to increase connection, open, honest dialogue and meaningful conflict resolution.

Happy National Teacher Day! We appreciate and honor every teacher that has shown up as more than just an educator but as a mentor.

In session 9 of The Diamond Standard we ask students to reflect on who acts as a mentor in their life and the impact it’s had on them. Dedicated teachers are intentional in fostering mentoring relationships with students.

Meet our new Teacher and Community Connector, Laila✨

Hi, I’m Laila!!! I moved to Colorado from Minnesota when I was about 4, but don’t get it mixed up…I’m a huge Packer fan, Go Pack Go! When I’m not watching The Packers, I’m having game nights & karaoke nights with family, at a local café with a friend, or exploring in nature with my partner, Evan! I have a huge heart for establishing diverse community through creativity, comfort, and connectedness. I’m so blessed to be working alongside so many wonderful teachers and teens!
