We’ve just returned from a successful ministry trip to Montana with International Solid Rock. Since our last visit was 10 years ago we weren’t sure what to expect. How refreshing it was to have such a welcoming experience, especially with the constant battle we always faced in Florida’s prison system. Not only did the officers help us in every way possible, but they enjoyed the evening events as well. Each scheduled time slot started ON TIME, and that almost NEVER happens in prisons.
Each night was packed in the gym, producing a large response to salvation’s invitation. On Friday, we did something unique during the afternoon session with the women. Because Montana isn’t offering “religious” programs as part of rehabilitation, we weren’t able to go in and teach the women. Instead, Tony set up a “meet & greet” time to provide an opportunity for the inmates to come and ask us the questions on their heart. Oh my… their questions were real, often revealing the destitute condition of their heart, as well as the stuck places in their journey. I was so touched by their vulnerability. At the end, they lined up as Robin and I, along with Mary Ann (Tony’s wife), prayed for each woman present. The prayer requests differed between each person, however, the core issues were constant. The Lord had us pray for a supernatural work: stripping off trauma and fear, then a sweeping, sovereign move to cleanse and heal their hearts.
*One woman who had “fielded” her question to Debbie concerning domestic violence, came up afterwards to share how she finally surrendered to Christ right where she sat, silently asking Jesus to be her Savior. She had only come to the session because she just “happened” to read our testimony tract.
*Robin shared her testimony publicly and told these women just how amazing God’s love is for each of them. One, in particular was touched significantly. Robin gave her a word straight from the heart of the Father after which she broke down crying. She was so impacted that she came back that night wanting more.
This was such a powerful time of ministry! God used each thing our team did, both big and small, to draw these women into HIS ARMS of LOVE! And YOU prepared the way through your generous giving and your prayers.
THANK YOU on behalf of our team and so many incarcerated women whose lives have been eternally changed!
What an honor to do this together!
