This week, we are proud to celebrate CCAP Celebration Week by recognizing two incredible members of our team who have achieved their CCAP certification; Executive Director, Lena M. Hicks and Head Start Director, Alisa Adams-Miller.
Their dedication, commitment, and years of hard work reflect a deep passion for serving our community and advancing the mission of Community Action. Earning a CCAP is no small accomplishment—it represents a strong commitment to excellence, leadership, and continued growth in the fight against poverty.

The Wabash County Low-Income Election is coming up soon. This is an important opportunity for community members to have their voices represented and participate in the selection process.

Thank you to Fairfield T-Mobile for their generous donation of reusable cooler bags to the Wayne County WADI Food Pantry. Participants of the food pantry will receive a T-Mobile bag filled with meat, dairy, and produce, along with a box of canned and dry goods.
The Wayne County WADI office is located at 2004 W. Delaware St., Fairfield, IL. The food pantry is open every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

🍕🎉 WADI staff celebrated National Pizza Party Day as part of Community Action Month!

We are incredibly thankful for the hardworking and dedicated employees who work every day to strengthen families, support communities, and make a positive impact across Southern Illinois.

Community Action is built on people helping people, and it was a fun way to recognize the amazing staff who make that mission possible.

Thank you, WADI staff, for all you do — because like a great pizza, every piece matters and it takes the whole team to make something special. ❤️🍕

Harrisburg II & III Early Head Start/ Head Start celebrated the completion of another program year with a fun outing at the Harrisburg park. Children and families decorated and flew kites, played on the playground, and enjoyed a meal together. Each child was presented with a certificate for completion of the program year.

Happy Huggy Heart Day!! Our little learners are spreading kindness one color at a time! ❤️🎨

They celebrated Community Action Month and Huggy Heart Day by coloring their very own Huggy Hearts to share love, kindness, and smiles throughout our community.

These special creations are a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big impact. We are so proud of our students for helping spread compassion and community spirit!
