When the democrats in Enfield took control of the Board of Education in 2021, they pushed unity and working together. in 2023 when they lost control, they sent very mixed messages. In one sentence they would say that they want everyone to work together in unity, but in another sentence they would talk about how angry they are with the voters, or speak about how much harm will be done. One member goes so far as to suggest that they may not survive the next 2 years.
Are these the words of people that truly want unity and to work together, or are they a call to action for their supporters? I think you know the answer to that already. One member goes as far as to state that they want their supporters to come to the meetings and be very vocal.
Not a single member of the democrat side of the BOE stated that they were ready to work with the republican side of the board without speaking about exactly the opposite of that. I have 'hope' that they can work together, and I am willing to give them credit if they do, but I don't have my hope very high.
Tina, Amanda, Scott, Gerald, please prove me wrong. Open your ears and listen to those you don't agree with. Open your ears to hear the things that you don't agree with, and try to ask why someone thinks differently than you do without vilifying them.
