Yesterday, our Vice President, Danielle Girard , had the honor of attending a press conference at the Office of Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz celebrating the artwork and legacy of Max Coyer.

Max Coyer was an LGBTQ+ artist born and raised in Connecticut. As a child, he spent countless hours at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art , where he found inspiration in the incredible works on display. Although Max's life was tragically cut short in 1988 during the height of the AIDS epidemic, his legacy has endured thanks to the dedication of his family and partner, who have worked tirelessly to preserve and share his art with the world.

Today, Max's artwork can be found in collections across the country, with several pieces currently on display right here in Connecticut. His story is a powerful reminder of the impact art can have and the importance of preserving LGBTQ+ history.

From September 19 through October 31, the Windsor Art Center will host a special exhibition showcasing Max Coyer's work. We encourage everyone to take the opportunity to learn more about this remarkable artist and experience his beautiful artwork firsthand.

Please visit Max Coyers website for additional information about him and his art.

💚🏳️‍🌈 PFLAG Enfield Support Groups Are FREE and Open to Everyone! 🏳️‍⚧️💚

At PFLAG Enfield, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, welcoming, and supportive community.

Our support groups are always free to attend, and you do not need to be a member to participate. Whether you’re LGBTQ+, a parent, family member, friend, ally, or simply looking for connection and support, you are welcome here.

While membership is never required, members help make our work possible. As an independent nonprofit, PFLAG Enfield is not funded by the Town of Enfield or the State of Connecticut. Donations, grants, and memberships help us continue offering free support groups, educational programs, community outreach, and advocacy throughout our region.

No matter how you choose to participate—by attending a support group, volunteering, becoming a member, or making a donation—you are helping build a stronger, more inclusive community.

💜 No membership required. All you need is you.
