On August 3rd, Enfield EMS, along with Enfield Fire and Enfield Police, responded to a home for a resident in cardiac arrest. CPR and Advanced Life Support resuscitative efforts were performed, and the resident has since made a full recovery! An important note is that the resident’s son performed CPR immediately, proving that bystander CPR is a critical component in the chain of survival.

Photographed with EMT Kelly Berge. Missing from the photo is Paramedic Rebecca Locke, along with Fire Dept and Police Dept. members.

As EMS Week starts, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude and admiration for the incredible EMTs and paramedics who selflessly dedicate their lives to serving our community.

Every day, they respond to emergencies with unwavering courage, compassion, and expertise. From the early hours of the morning to the late hours of the night, they're always there, ready to provide critical care and support to those in need. Their commitment to preserving lives is awe-inspiring and truly humbling.

They are the unsung heroes in our communities, working tirelessly to ensure that medical emergencies are met with swift action and life-saving interventions.

Behind those uniforms are individuals who put their lives on the line, often making split-second decisions that can mean the difference between life and death. They navigate through the storm, treating patients with skill and empathy, bringing hope and healing to the most challenging situations.

Not only do they excel in providing emergency medical care, but they also educate the public, raise awareness about health and safety, and go above and beyond to serve as pillars of our community. Their dedication is boundless, and we are truly fortunate to have them as our guardians of health.

So, this EMS Week, let's all take a moment to recognize and appreciate the extraordinary work of our EMTs and Paramedics. If you see an EMS professional this week, extend a smile, a kind word, or a simple "thank you." Let them know that their commitment to saving lives does not go unnoticed.

To all the EMTs and paramedics out there, from the depths of our hearts, thank you for your selflessness, your unwavering dedication, and your invaluable service to our communities. Your sacrifices and acts of heroism inspire us all.
