We are a small family-owned business with a big vision and passion for living life to the fullest. Founders, Alison Kunkel and Brian Turshman both studied nutrition and became Certified Holistic Health Coaches in 2008 through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (back when the program was held in-person in Manhattan, NY and recognized by American Association of Drugless Practitioners and accred
ited through Teachers College, Columbia University). Alison and Brian were married in 2009, in the beautiful Shawangunk Mountains at "The Million Dollar View" on Mohonk Preserve. While pursuing personal hobbies and passions, such as music, yoga, reiki, and meditation together and side-by-side for many years, both Brian and Alison became nurses out of their interest in health and wellness, and their desire to help others. Outside of the nursing grind, Brian is a musician and has played both guitar and bass in different bands and still collaborates with his friend's band, Sheila and the Deep End. Brian and Alison will never turn down a jam or karaoke fun. Music is so important to both of them, they are excited to offer a unique, wellness-inspired venue for musicians and music lovers. Alison is also a certified yoga teacher (Anusara Inspired, 2014), a Reiki Level II Practioner (2010), and an ordained Interfaith Minister (2012). Together, Brian and Alison do weddings and other ceremonies. Learn more at Simple Ceremonies, Meaningful Memories page. Gut Feelings Kombucha and Community Center joins together so many parts of both Alison and Brian in way that creates a much greater WHOLE. They envision Gut Feelings will be a hub for local creatives and healers in all forms and that it will serve and nourish the community, fostering togetherness, creativity, and kindness.
