Undersheriff Chapman was there for my family during our hardest days when we lost my sister. I’ll never forget that. We were also blessed to have him speak at our Rae of Change: Lucy’s Legacy gala a year ago, and he did a phenomenal job educating and connecting with the audience on drug abuse in our county. Forever grateful for both his leadership in our communities and his dedication to helping individuals and families who are in the midst of their worst days. Truly a great man with great impact. Blessings to him as he embarks on a new chapter of life. Thank you for your service, Chris! 💙

Sergeant Cooper was also there for us on multiple occasions, another a great guy - as was Sheriff Myers and many others from the department! Congratulations, and thank you, all around! We have great people serving in law enforcement in Whitman County. Cheering you all on!

Eastern Washington Friends! We're hosting our first dinner gala for Rae of Change: Lucy’s Legacy THIS FRIDAY! Join us!

We want you to come; join us for dinner and some incredible guest speakers who spend their days fighting on the ground to save lives and make our communities safer. Plus, we'll be sharing some of our own story with Lucy and the plans we have for Rae of Change moving forward.

We're also awarding a scholarship to the top applicant who is inspired to further the same mission we are: Sparing lives and giving families hope amidst the darkness that comes with addiction and/or mental health struggles. If you know a young person (ages 16-26) who would be a good candidate for a scholarship, please share this with them. We will accept applications through the 14th.

We welcome all to attend regardless of financial ability to purchase tickets. In lieu of purchasing tickets, donations of any amount can be given at the event. Childcare is also available for those that have little ones who aren't quite ready for such dinner and discussion yet (just RSVP with your child's name to the number below.)

Please call 509-657-3517 to reserve your seat.

(A headcount helps us with the catering needs, so leave a message with your name and how many seats you and your family/friends will fill. Donations can be made at the event in lieu of purchasing tickets online. If you'd like a call back, just say so in your message.)

You also can shoot us a message here on Facebook, and we'll get your name added to the list.

Seats are first come, first served at the event for those who haven’t pre-purchased tickets online/via phone. You're welcome to come to the event even if you haven't reserved a seat ahead of time, up until we reach room capacity.

Get dressed up and bring your family & friends out for dinner, community, and purpose! This is a night we will all remember.

We're excited to share this event with you all - It's time we talk about what we can all do to make a difference in our communities! 💙

Rae of Change: Lucy's Legacy is ready to launch publicly! We want YOU to be a part of it!

Join us for our official launch event - our 1st Annual Dinner Gala, "Addiction, Mental Health, & Overdoses: Let's Talk About It..." on Friday, November 15th, 2024 at the Palouse Empire Fairgrounds Community Building near Colfax, WA!

It's been one year since we lost Lucinda Rae Lautenschlager to a drug overdose. As her family, we have been healing, networking, and building behind the scenes, because we knew immediately after losing Lucy that we are being called to help others navigate the rough waters that come along with addiction and mental health struggles. We hope to spread awareness on these issues so that others feel less isolated, and to provoke prevention of more bright lives being stolen from making a wrong turn down darker paths they can't find their way back from.

Lucy was intelligent, beautiful, witty, and so capable of leading a successful life. But yet, her life was taken by addiction at just 30 years old. Why did this happen? It's a question we've asked ourselves and reflected on every day since she passed on October 13th, 2023. LET'S TALK ABOUT IT.

If our family being open and honest can save other lives and their families from the dark days we endured - we must share our story, Lucy's story.

We're excited to be joined by both Undersheriff Chris Chapman of Whitman County Sheriff's Department and Phil Altmeyer, President of Union Gospel Mission as our guest speakers for our first dinner gala event! These speakers have experience with the issues of mental health struggles and drug addiction as they work to improve the lives affected by these issues on a daily basis, right here in our area.

We'll be awarding scholarships at our event also; if you or someone you know would be a great candidate for this, please share this and visit our website for eligibility and details on how to apply.

Join us on November 15th for our first ever event! We have big plans for this movement, and we want you to be a part of it from the beginning!

Tickets: raeofchange.org

This isn't just an invite - it's a call to action. It's time we talk about it, so we can stop the wildfire of an epidemic that is spreading around our nation, including right here in Whitman County. Let's talk about it, so we can do something about it.
