For the first time since 2010, our chapter has a State Officer Candidate!

Jocelyn Birklid will go through the screening committee process throughout this week where she will participate in a variety of interviews with a panel of judges, activities, and give a speech on why she wants to be a State Officer!

She completed her first round interview this afternoon at 3pm. She will participate in round two of the screening committee tonight from 8:30-10 and round three tomorrow morning from 7:30-9:45.

Tomorrow afternoon we will find out if Jocelyn will move on to rounds four-six of the screening process. If she moves on to these sessions, the screening committee will decide if she will be slated for an officer position! If they slate her for an officer position, she will attend the delegate voting session on Thursday morning at 7:15 to determine if she will be elected! If she is elected she will dedicate the next year of service to the ND FFA!

‼️It’s time for the 97th ND State FFA Convention‼️

18 of our members will be attending convention this week and participating in Ag Communications, Basic & Advanced Ag Mechanics, Dairy Cattle Evaluation, Environmental & Natural Resources, Farm & Agribusiness Management, Floriculture, Food Science, Meats Evaluation, Milk Quality, Nursery/Landscape, Small Animal Care, and Courtesy Corps! Students will also get the chance to attend convention sessions, student worshops, meet students from across the state, and so much more!

We left the school at 10am this morning to get up to NDSU. Huge thank you to Mr. Austin Sprunk for helping drive kids up to campus!

Our members have been busy studying and preparing over the last few months. We also attended the state convention workshop in Carrington on May 26th!

Meet Melina!

Melina is a freshman and joined our chapter last year. This year she has been eager to become more active! She showed at the Ransom County Fair, attended Fall Leadership, participated in the Greenhand Quiz at District Leadership, attended meetings, and has been studying hard for State Convention! Meet Avery!

Avery is our chapter Chaplain this year! He competes in Environmental and Natural Resources, Advanced Ag Mechanics, and Advanced Quiz. He has also competed in Livestock Judging in the past.

He enjoys running cross-country and track, playing baseball, being outside, lifting, trap shooting, and more! He has been an active member for 5 years! When asked what his favorite part of FFA is he said that getting to hang out with his friends is his favorite.

Yesterday a few of our members attended NDSU Extension - Ransom County’s annual Ag Safety Day at the Ransom County Fairgounds!

Members taught groups of 5th and 6th grade students from both Enderlin and Lisbon schools about Hand Tool Safety and identification! They covered the basic hand tools like a hammer, ratchet and sockets, vise grip, and hack saw. They also included some handheld power tools like an orbit sander, power drill, impact driver, wood router, and a jig saw! They discussed proper safety personal protective equipment, tool use and maintenance, and allowed students the opportunity to learn how to use the tools!

On Sunday, April 26th we held our annual awards banquet where we welcomed 150 people to help us celebrate our members and their accomplishments from the year! We recognized our supporters, enjoyed a fantastic meal, visited with family and friends, listened to our wonderful guest speaker, wished our seniors luck in their next adventures, shared some laughs, and ended the night by capturing pictures of our award winners!

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Cork Dallman for catering our steak and potato meal, Shawn and Isaac McLeod for assisting Cork with preparing the food, Mrs. Delvo for allowing us to use her classroom to cook potatoes, Mr. Bergstedt for the speaker and mic, Ms. Rasmusson for helping us set up and clean up, Kristyn Bauer - ND FFA State Secretary for being our guest speaker for the evening, Bank Forward (Valley City) and Nord Farms for allowing us to borrow their tables, Cheyenne Kemmer for letting us use her wooden doors for our photo backdrop, everyone who donated amazing items and baskets to our silent and live auctions, the Enderlin FFA Alumni Chapter for sponsoring a scholarship for our seniors, and to all of our parents, families, community members and businesses for all of their support throughout the year! We are so thankful for everyone’s support that we receive throughout the year and couldn’t do it all without you!

Meet Malik!

Malik is an 8th grader this year and a new member! So far this year Malik has been to meetings and shown interest in learning about FFA! He was very helpful this past month in setting up for the banquet and stayed late after it was over to help clean up and wash dishes! Way to go Malik!

Meet Domanic!

Domanic is our chapter Chaplain this year! He competes in Environmental and Natural Resources, Advanced Ag Mechanics, and Advanced Quiz. He has also competed in Livestock Judging.

He enjoys fishing, hunting, football, baseball, band, archery, trap shooting, and more! He has been an active member for 5 years and is busy in his SAE where he manages his own mowing business. When asked what his favorite FFA contest/conference/convention is that he has attended he said that state convention is his favorite!
