Our YMCA family shares in sympathy with the passing of our friend and beloved supporter, Gary E. Biszantz, on March 14.

Gary lived a life of leadership, generosity, and a belief in the power of sports to shape character and create opportunity. His naming‑level gift made possible the Gary E. Biszantz Family Gymnasium, which opened in 1998 and has since remained a cornerstone of community life for generations of children, families, and seniors to play, connect, and thrive, every day.

Gary often shared that playing basketball at a YMCA as a young boy helped keep him on a positive path toward success. That belief lives on in this space every day, from youth sports and lifelong fitness to the friendships formed on the court. Our gym is also proud to host the annual Paul Ecke Jr. Poinsettia Ball, which for decades has helped ensure our positive programs remain accessible to all.

We are profoundly grateful for the many years of friendship, Gary’s legacy, and the lasting impact he has made on our YMCA and our community. Our heartfelt condolences are with the Biszantz family.”
