Today, we honor the strength behind the uniform.

Observed the Friday before Mother's Day, Military Spouse Appreciation Day recognizes the unwavering support, resilience, and sacrifice of military spouses around the world.

Established in 1984 by President Reagan, this day serves as a reminder that behind every Soldier stands a spouse who serves in their own way, holding families together, weathering uncertainty, and standing strong through every chapter of military life.

To all military spouses: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your steadfast support.

Today is the last day to register for the American Legion Auxiliary National Poppy Day Virtual 5K!🚨

However you choose — run, walk, bike, roller skate, or swim — your 5K (3.1 miles) is yours to complete your way! 🏁 Finish it all at once or break it up anytime between May 1–22, 2026.

Make a suggested $25 donation to your local unit or state department poppy fund, and let the race begin! 🌺 We have hit 700 people registered, so race medals are no longer available.
