Here's some great information about the meet this weekend from Coach Mischke!
Hello Participants of the 2026 Sunflower State Games Track and Field Meet!
We are excited to bring the T&F Meet back to the Summer Games and excited you are participating! Here is information you will need for Saturday:
Please park in the East Parking Lot of Hummer Sports Park stadium.
The only entrance to the meet will be through the NE Main Entrance gate.
Gates will open at 6:00 am. Officials will report to events at 7:00 am. Events begin at 7:30 am.
There is NO Admission Fee.
Participants must be Checked-In at the gate and will receive a wrist band indicating they are participants.
There will be no concessions offered. Therefore, food and beverages (non-alcoholic) may be brought into the stadium. Please dispose of all trash in trash bins throughout the stadium.
No Smoking/Vaping is allowed in the stadium or at Field Event venues.
In case of bad weather, please be aware of the following:
"Shelter" is considered your vehicle.
If lightening or thunder occurs, the meet will be postponed for 30 minutes and people must report to their vehicles.
30 minute delays will begin anew upon each sign of lightening or thunder.
Event will occur if it is raining without lightening or thunder.
ONLY ATHLETES and OFFICIALS are allowed on the infield and inside Field Event venues.
Canopies may be set up on the South Lawn adjacent to the scoreboard, or in the upper sections of bleachers.
Spectators are asked to NOT set up camp, or sit, along the North sidewalk of the track.
Track competitors must "check-in" to their event at the check-in tent and receive a hip number. For sprint events, the hip number corresponds to assigned lane. Events will be "called" prior to their start.
Track events will follow a "rolling" schedule. Some Age Groups may be combined. Track Schedule is on the Sunflower State Games website, under Track and Field, "Information", and will be posted within the stadium.
A final Field Event Schedule will be provided on Friday.
Throwers are asked to bring their own implements, including Turbo Javelins (unfortunately SSG could not procur these in-time).
The Top 3 in each event in each Age Group will receive either a Bronze, Silver, or Gold medal and will receive those medals upon recognition at the Awards Stand in the middle of the infield. Medals will be given as soon as possible after the event, pending results verification and printing.
Results will be posted within the stadium as soon as they are available.
Questions and/or concerns during the meet are to be brought to Meet Commissioners: Rob Hays, Colleen Mischke
