Kansas MTB

Kansas MTB ~ chapter of NICA ~
We're trying to get and show off the amazing mountain bike trails of Kansas!

We produce high-quality mountain bike events and races for grades 6-12 that emphasize the values of participation, camaraderie, positive sporting behavior, and well-being over competition. Our hope is to build strong minds, bodies, and communities through cycling and get more kids on bikes!

The Pit Zone is now open for those who are racing regionals! Talk to your team directors if you have any questions. Looking for a team? Check the website for the team closest to you or send us a message - we’ll help you out!

Earlier registration means more time to recruit and spread the word. Don’t forget to tell your friends:

A sea of bikes, a day full of adventure, and a community that's always ready to welcome new riders. 🚵💚

We're already looking forward to next season, and we'd love to see even more bikes lined up at the start. Maybe one of them could be yours!

Whether you're new to mountain biking or have been riding for years, there's a place for you on the Disciples of Dirt. We can't wait to hit the trails together next season!

Coyote Trails! We’ve been wanting to host a NICA race here for a minute! Emporia may be known for gravel, but Team Coyote has been honing their mountain bike skills on these private trails for years. Twisty flow with purpose built technical features - it’s easy to see how all these kids became so fast.

If you like what you see, you’re invited back in the fall to race Tricks and Trails mountain bike race, an annual fundraiser for the team . Since it’s non-NICA, adults can race too! Save the date for Oct. 24th to reconnect with your NICA fam in the fall.

We’re nearly half way to our fundraising goal with only a few weeks left to make it happen. Let’s keep the momentum building and see if we can make it to $10,000 by the end of the Snake Farm Showdown!

We are big believers in the transformative impact of bicycles. We’re building confidence through skill development that involves the whole family. We’re giving back through trail work and advocating for accessibility and time spent in the outdoors! Thank you for your continued support of our league. Every dollar counts, and we couldn’t do it without hundreds of hands and hearts coming together to make it happen.

We are raising funds for the 2026 season to cover athlete scholarships, costs to upkeep and replace race equipment, and costs associated with continued education for our staff and coaches.

With over a thousand followers, if everyone donated $10 today, we would reach our fundraising goal for the 2026 season. Every dollar raised goes towards our mission of getting more kids on bikes.

Our league runs on more than just race results—it runs on community!

Volunteers play a critical role in creating safe, supportive, and well-organized race weekends for our student-athletes. Whether it’s helping on course, at registration, or behind the scenes with set-up, every role contributes to the experience.

Not sure how to get involved? Take a moment to look through a few of the roles that are critical to race weekends and sign up for what interests you! Filling these roles ahead of time helps ensure smooth race days and allows our coaches and riders to stay focused on the season.

There are on and off-the-bike opportunities.

What a weekend!!

What a weekend!!

Hard to believe this weekend is already behind us.

What people saw on race day was way more than just a course - it was the result of countless hours from our coaches, athletes, and their families, all coming together to build something from the ground up.

Getting to host a Kansas NICA race as the Trailcats was a big deal for us, and it couldn’t have turned out better. The timing worked out perfectly, and the turnout blew us away.

More than 200 riders, 5-12 graders, took on the trails at Lewis Young Park, and they showed up with a huge support crew. Coaches, parents, siblings, friends - nearly 1,000 people filled the park with energy all weekend.

Just an awesome experience all around and a pretty special moment for our team and community

After a double rainout last year, the anticipation to race in Louisburg is HIGH! the Trailcats wanted a place to practice that wasn’t just a grass field, so they went to work! We’re so proud of what this team has built for their local community and can’t wait to roll some race tires on the trails. We’re ready for race weekend, are you?!
