This past weekend 3 members went to the 17th annual Pikes Peak Regional Undergraduate Mathematics Conference (PPRUMC) in Pueblo, Colorado. This conference had 14 undergraduate presenters and encouraged students to pursue new and exciting things within mathematics!

The Department’s annual trip to KC is coming up! We will be meeting outside the math office at 1:50 pm on Friday, Nov. 14th. We will arrive in KC around 4 pm and view the rare book collection at the Linda Hall Library until 5:00. Afterwards, our tentative plans are to eat dinner and attend an improv comedy club. We will return to ESU that evening. Free transportation is provided.

If you plan to attend, please let us know by Monday, Nov. 10th by signing up on the KME board across from SH248.

Just a reminder that the Mathematics and Economics Department Picnic will be held TODAY at 4:00 at Hammond Park (just two blocks west of Visser Hall).

We will be holding KME elections once most people have had a chance to eat. So, if you are interested in being a KME officer next year, it would be great if you could be there. If you can't make it but still want to be an officer, make sure we get your name and the position(s) you would be interested in holding. All positions (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer) are open!

Also, there will be a vote for a present member to receive the annual KME scholarship!

No matter what, we would love to see you there!
