🌱 September is a BIG grant month at ECF!

With school back in session, we’re also back in full swing connecting community needs with charitable resources through our grant programs.

Four grant opportunities are open this month:

📚 ECF Grant | Sept. 1–30
Supports innovative projects in health, social services, education, recreation, and cultural affairs.

🍎 Emporia Public School Endowment Grant | Sept. 1–30
Available to USD 253 teachers for creative teaching strategies and projects that engage and motivate students.

🌾 Flint Hills Community Fund Grant | Sept. 1–30
Supports community & rural development, historic preservation, museums, agriculture, and conservation. 2026 applications are for Chase County.

💚 Chase County Community Fund Grant | Aug. 15–Sept. 15
Supports creative projects that strengthen the quality of life for Chase County residents.

Have an idea that could make a difference in our communities? There may be a grant for that!

Our August Legacy Story features SOS, Inc., an organization that provides so much support to individuals and families in need throughout our community.

From meeting immediate needs to helping people find stability and hope, SOS, Inc. is an important part of the safety net in our area—and we’re grateful for the difference they make every day.

From scholarship checks (over $160,000 awarded!) and supporting our local medical professionals at Newman Regional Health at their annual Denim & Diamonds Gala, we are proud to be a part of what makes our community move forward.

Outside our windows, the rain is falling softly. Rain has a way of bringing a hush—and with it, reflection.

In every season, one thing we know at ECF to be true: generosity endures. Kindness speaks. And good grows quietly in the everyday moments.

Here at Emporia Community Foundation, we remain grateful to do the work we've been entrusted to do in the communities we serve.

The Emporia Municipal Band was officially formed in 1941 during WWII. The EMB has been giving us music for 85 years. Here is their Flint Hills Legacy Story.
