Join us from 5 - 7 pm at the Lyon County History Center to help celebrate our 50th anniversary with an exhibit highlighting our impact over the past five decades, along with the history of the 1970s sexual assault movement in the local community and across Kansas. See you there!

SAVE THE DATE: SOS BUSINESS AFTER HOURS: SOS 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Join us on October 15 for a special Business After Hours hosted by SOS in celebration of their 50th anniversary and in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

This year’s event will take place at the Lyon County History Center, where a featured exhibit will highlight SOS’s impact over the past five decades, along with the history of the 1970s sexual assault movement in the local community and across Kansas. The exhibit opens to the public the day prior to the event and will remain available through the end of October, making this a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and reflect on the vital work SOS has done in our region.

Come network with fellow Chamber members while supporting an organization that has made a lasting difference in our community.

We cannot thank Walmart Emporia - Industrial Rd enough for their support of SOS and our services! We were lucky to attend the grand re-openning and was presented with a check for $11,660 that was raised by associates from all over the US.

We are deeply grateful to Walmart for its generous support of SOS, and for the many local organizations and neighbors it helps lift up across our community!

Step into Emporia’s history with founders & panelists Margi Grimwood, Paula Hurt, Melissa Ness, & Linda Wood as they share the inspiring story of how they launched the Emporia Chapter of the National Organization for Women & brought SOS, Inc. to life. Dr. Rebecca Rodriguez-Carey, ESU associate professor of social sciences, sociology, and criminology, will guide this engaging conversation.
