EIN # 47-1857785 My love for horses began as a child but it wasn't until I was an adult that I was finally able to have a horse of my own. Due to injuries sustained in an auto accident in 1999 I could no longer ride. It was then I started researching mini's and the rest is history... I was hooked. In 2003 my first 4 mini's came into my life and my adventures in the wonderful world of the miniature

horse began. In 2004 I became a member of the Blue Water Miniature Horse Club (BWMHC) where over the years I have made some amazing friends and many wonderful memories. During my time with the BWMHC I was very actively involved serving on several committees and enjoyed every minute of it. I was the newsletter editor for 8 years (2004-2011). I also served on the board of directors as treasurer for 4 years (2008-2011). From 2007-2010 the club's fun shows were held at my farm...these are some of my greatest memories, spending time with amazing friends both old and new and our wonderful little horses. In 2009 I became involved with Chance's Miniature Horse Rescue (CMHR), first as a member then as a director at large. I became a foster home for this nationwide rescue in 2010 and since then I have fostered several horses. In May of 2010 I was asked to be treasurer for the rescue and I gladly accepted. As my passion for rescue grew I decided to make some changes and devote more of myself to making a difference in the lives of these little horses. So in December of 2011 I resigned my positions of treasurer and newsletter editor with the BWMHC to follow my heart which has led me on a amazing journey. I believe my time with both the BWMHC and CMHR along with the encouragement and support of my wonderful family and friends has prepared me to follow another dream....opening my own rescue! On September 17, 2014, Saving Grace Miniature Horse Rescue went from a dream I never thought possible to a reality!

UPDATE: FOSTER HOME SECURED!

🚨 URGENT HELP NEEDED 🚨

We are reaching out to our local Michigan friends and supporters with an urgent request.

Two miniature horse geldings are being surrendered back to Saving Grace after spending the last 7 years with their adoptive family. This is not a decision being made lightly. Sadly, their adopter lost her husband a few years ago and is now struggling to provide the care they need.

Unfortunately, this comes at an incredibly challenging time for the rescue. We are currently at capacity, and I am scheduled to undergo major ankle revision surgery on June 12th, which will leave me non-weight-bearing for several weeks during recovery.

🏡 What we need most right now is a temporary foster home in MICHIGAN for these boys while we work to construct a shelter at the rescue so they can eventually come here.

Meet the boys:

🐴 Pete – 11-year-old, 33" Sorrel Pinto Gelding

🐴 Checkers – 15-year-old, 34" Leopard Appaloosa Gelding

In order to bring them to the rescue permanently, we will need to build a shelter in one of our pastures as quickly as possible. To make that happen, we are also seeking:

🔨 Donations toward building materials

🔨 Lumber and supplies

🔨 Volunteers willing to help with construction

🔨 Anyone with experience building run-in sheds or pasture shelters

These sweet boys have done nothing wrong. They are simply facing a change in circumstances, and we are committed to making sure they have a safe place to land.

If you can provide a temporary foster home, donate supplies, volunteer your time, or help in any way, please send us a message right away.

Please share this post. We are racing against the clock to find a solution for Pete and Checkers, and every share helps.

Listen up, friends.

Have you seen how fabulous I've been looking lately? That level of beauty doesn't just happen. It takes shampoo, clipper blades, and a whole lot of hard work from the humans.

Unfortunately, management tells me we're running low on some of our spa day supplies, and I simply cannot allow my friends to continue walking around looking like tiny, fuzzy mop buckets.

Could you take a quick peek at our Amazon Wish List? A bottle of shampoo or a clipper blade helps keep all of us minis clean, comfortable, and camera-ready for our adoring fans.

Thank you for supporting the Saving Grace Beauty Salon. Your generosity helps keep us soft, shiny, and ridiculously adorable. ❤️

Love,
Annie

Breaking news from Annie: My stitches came out today! 🎉

The vet says I'm good as new. Momma Tammie says I need to quit trying to bankrupt the rescue with my "adventures." Personally, I think 2 stitches and a little extra attention was totally worth it. 😏

Anyway, I'm officially cleared to return to all my regular activities: being cute, being bossy, and keeping everyone on their toes.

Apparently 2 little stitches cost approximately one million cookies. 😳

Management was going on and on about “vet bills” and “eye injuries” and then I overheard talk about wrapping me in bubble wrap from now on. RUDE. I prefer “adventurous” over accident prone, thank you very much.

But in all seriousness, I have a very special thank you to my guardian angel, Ms. Sherry, who paid my vet bill in FULL! ❤️

Did you guys know Ms. Sherry was also one of the amazing humans who helped rescue me and bring me to Saving Grace back in 2024? AND I was named in honor of her momma. Pretty special, huh?

So thank you, Ms. Sherry, for loving me from the very beginning and always taking such good care of me… even when I make questionable life choices overnight in my stall. 😅

Love,
Your stitched-up but still spicy girl,
Annie

Good news: I survived.
Bad news: apparently I am no longer allowed unsupervised nighttime activities. 🙄

Somehow overnight I managed to whack my eye hard enough that management completely overreacted and called the vet out this morning. Next thing I know everybody is standing around saying things like “oh Annie…” and “she needs stitches.”

STITCHES.
As in TWO WHOLE STITCHES in my eyelid.

They even tried to sedate me…which honestly felt a little rude because clearly I was handling things just fine. And let me tell you…even sedation can’t keep this girl down for long. At one point I apparently climbed halfway into the lap of the super nice assistant lady.

What can I say? If I’m going through a traumatic medical event, I deserve emotional support and extra personal attention.

The doctor says I should heal up just fine, but I personally think this experience deserves extra cookies for at LEAST the next 7-10 business days.

Love,
Annie
