We meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month and learn about robotics engineering and programing. We also have a competitive First Lego League(FLL) Team 25369 that was sponsored by the Electrotechs First Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 3954. Eletrotechs FLL Team is comprised of kids grade 4-8 and the Electrotechs FRC Team is comprised or 9-12 graders.
4-H has a robotic club? Yes, and we
have a lot of fun together. Even if competitive robotics is not your thing, you can be part of the 4-H club. The 4‑H robotics program inspires young people and develops an early interest in robotics engineering and technology. Through robotics, 4‑H’ers learn teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, engineering and design. We offer meetings twice a month and a robotics summer camp. What is FLL and what do the kids learn when participating? Guided by adult Coaches, FLL teams research a real-world problems and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology, then compete on a table-top playing field. They learn to apply science, technology, engineering, and math concepts (STEM), plus a big dose of imagination, to solve a problem. Along the way team members develop critical thinking and team-building skills, basic STEM applications, and presentation skills (they present their solutions to judges). They also practice the Program’s signature Core Values:
- We are a team.
- We do the work to find solutions with guidance from our coaches and mentors.
- We know our coaches and mentors don't have all the answers; we learn together.
- We honor the spirit of friendly competition.
- What we discover is more important than what we win.
- We share our experiences with others.
