Breaking News:

Two box trucks are arriving at the Henry County Help Center this Wednesday at 8:45 AM, and they are completely incapable of unloading themselves.We need a few awesome humans to help us lift boxes and clear both trucks by 10:30 AM.
We’ve been doing this for 14 years, so we can guarantee two things: excellent teamwork and a zero percent chance of boredom.
Bring your work gloves and your best dad jokes. Who can spare an hour and a half to help us out? Thank you.

What Date-Labeling Phrases are Used?

There are no uniform or universally accepted descriptions used on food labels for open dating in the United States. As a result, there are a wide variety of phrases used on labels to describe quality dates.

Examples of commonly used phrases:
A "Best if Used By/Before" date indicates when a product will be of best flavor or quality. It is not a purchase or safety date.

A "Sell-By" date tells the store how long to display the product for sale for inventory management. It is not a safety date.

A "Use-By" date is the last date recommended for the use of the product while at peak quality. It is not a safety date except when used on infant formula as described below.

A "Freeze-By" date indicates when a product should be frozen to maintain peak quality. It is not a purchase or safety date.

Can Food Be Donated After the Date Passes?

Yes. The quality of perishable products may deteriorate after the date passes but the products should still be wholesome if not showing signs of spoilage. Food banks, other charitable organizations, and consumers should evaluate the quality of the product before its distribution and consumption to determine whether there are noticeable changes in wholesomeness.

Free plant starting supplies for science or ag classes (trays & soil)
Hi , Teachers, I have a large supply of unused flower and vegetable seed starting equipment that I would love to donate to a local classroom.
Please note that seeds are not included, but all the necessary starting hardware is ready to go.Since it is late in the outdoor growing season, these would be perfect for indoor science experiments, soil studies, or upcoming fall gardening projects.
What is included, seed starting traysSoil pellets / growing pots, These supplies are completely free. I am happy to arrange a pickup time with you. Please let me know if your students can use them! Must schools in Henry County.
