A group of volunteers from all aspects of the community representing 5 cities and townships in Central Minnesota: Emily, Fairfield, Fifty Lakes, Little Pine and Outing (Crooked Lake Township). We are proud to showcase our communities to the world, and hope you will GoNorth with us!

Today work begins on our next GoNorthMn project!!!!
The MnDOT drainage pond on Lake and Second has been a neglected eyesore for too long. Lets make it into something Emily can be proud of! GoNorthMn, with support from MnDOT, Crow Wing Crow Wing County Soil and Water Conservation District, and with a grant from Land and Waters Preservation Trust, have hired Northern Ecological Services to restore the 1/3 acre site, removing the invasive species and creating a beautiful native plant garden.
Here are some of the plans we are working on, but we need your help! The more money we raise, the better this lot will look. Donations over $500 will recieve permanent commemorative signage at the site. These can be business names, family names, or memorials (all language pending approval). We know this site will require annual maintenance, so in the future, there will be more opportunities to donate and recieve commemortive signage in the garden during each summer season.

North Star Manganese / Electric Metals USA to Conduct a Town Hall Meeting at Emily City Hall

On July 21, 2026, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., NSM / EML will participate in a public informational meeting regarding its proposed manganese mine. The public will have the opportunity to ask questions of representative(s) of the mining companies. Please plan on attending this meeting and obtaining answers to your questions concerning the impacts of a manganese mine in the city limits of Emily.

PLEASE NOTE: The City of Emily does not have the ability to provide remote access to this meeting.

New addition to the Emily landscape! At GoNorthMn we are working hard to make our towns more beautiful and welcoming. This row boat was donated by Half Moon Resort on Ruth Lake, the flowers are from GoNorthMn volunteers and Emily Ace Garden Center- Thank you all!!

Thanks to all our volunteers who helped Emily Town Square get ready for summer! New things include an antique saw donation, wood stain, and plantings will go in soon! Extra thanks to our site manager, Buster, who kept us all on task.
