Juneteenth reminds us that progress is not measured by what is promised, but by what is experienced.

More than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free - a powerful reminder that change declared is not always change realized.

As we reflect today, we're reminded why organizations like IOBSE matter. Creating opportunity, developing leaders, and investing in mentorship helps close the gap between intention and action.

Honoring Juneteenth means more than remembering history. It means continuing the work of opening doors, removing barriers, and ensuring progress is felt by everyone.

Pride is more than a celebration. It’s a reminder of what becomes possible when people are free to live as their whole selves. It’s the courage to be seen. The strength to keep showing up. The joy of belonging exactly as you are.

This month, we honor the generations who fought to make that freedom possible, because every person deserves to be loved without conditions, respected without exceptions, and welcomed without question.

Happy Pride Month. 🤎
