Our Mission: To improve the lives of young people by providing guidance, support and resources that will assist them in developing the skill of “critical thinking” and becoming healthy, loving adults who thrive in serving their families and communities. There are three phases (primary, intermediate, advanced) in which each phase consists of three 12 - 16 weeks courses of instruction. We also minis
ter and mentor to men in a local homeless shelter to provide support that demographic as well. We have collaborated with Nehemiah House of Refuge who specializes in workforce development (job readiness) for "at risk" men ages 18-55. is to implement our MDP and assist in the changing of the mindset of this demographic before they are referred for employment opportunities. We are nearing completion of a prison ministry that will allow Men of Courage to engage and prayerfully change the mindset (by the grace of God) of inmates before they are released and transition back into society. The YMP consists of a collaboration with the SIMBA Volunteer Program (Franklin County Children's Services) in which "at risk" male youth ages 7-18 are mentored individually and in a group setting and expose them to cultural events (museums, sporting events, ect.). We spend quality time with each young man in an attempt to "groom" him from adolescence to adulthood so that he may one day give back to the community in the same manner. We also have joined forces with Avalon Elementary School (Columbus, OH) in which we mentor 1st grade boys by reading to / with them as well as completing pre-assigned educational lessons. We feel that mentoring (as well as ministering) contribute to the overall development of men's characters and allow us to take our RIGHTFUL place in our home, our work places and in our communities, as POSTIVE ROLE MODELS.
