Charles L. Sommers Alumni Association The alumni association of Northern Tier National High Adventure. The Charles L. Sommers Alumni Association, Inc.

(“SAA”) was founded by former staff members, long-time volunteers, and supporters of Northern Tier High Adventure. The organization provides continuing support for its mission and programs. Through its members, it has impacted the thousands of Scouts who have participated in canoeing and winter adventures. Support ranges from direct financial support to volunteer service.

📢 📢 📢 REMINDER: ALUMNI INTERPRETERS NEEDED

Northern Tier is in need of one-trip interpreters starting next week for trips in the Atikokan Crownlands! Thank you to those who have already spread the word!

INFO:
- Single Trip (7 night or 8 night trips) going out in early August
- Interpreters must have current passport and ability to travel out of the United States

Paddlers from Northern Tier High Adventure, a Scout organization with strong ties to the Ely area, were among those evacuated from the Boundary Waters last week.

In this episode, we hear their firsthand accounts of getting out from deep in the BWCA and Quetico during the evacuation. Towboats played a role, as did a series of critical decisions made along the way. The stories were recorded near Ely soon after the Scouts were evacuated.“
