Each summer, District 5580 Clubs provide scholarships to high school sophomores and juniors to attend a week-long leadership camp filled with hands-on learning, new friendships, and experiences that build confidence and leadership skills.

RYLA 2026 will take place July 12–18 at the University of Minnesota Crookston.

The application deadline is just around the corner! Encourage current high school sophomores and juniors in your community to apply.

THE ROTARY CLUB OF ELY WILL MATCH COMMUNITY DONATIONS TO THE ELY AREA FOOD SHELF UP TO $2,000
FROM FEBRUARY 20 TO MARCH 25, 2026.
The Ely Rotary Club collects cash donated in 31 “Penny Jars” in businesses throughout the Ely area and
donates the proceeds to the Ely Area Food Shelf in March every year. This year the total is $7,000.
The donation is made in March because the Food Shelf receives a funding match, every March.
In addition to the Penny Jar donation, this year the Ely Rotary Club will also match community contributions
donated to the Ely Area Food Shelf between February 20th to March 25th up to $2,000.
Community donations can be made by sending a check made payable to the Ely Area Food Shelf, 15 West
Conan Street, Ely, MN 55731 and listing “Rotary Match” on the memo line.

Have you ever thought about what an amazing experience it would be to share the Ely Area, your home and family with an international student. The Rotary Club of Ely, MN is currently looking for a temporary home for a student (not the one pictured) as spring arrives and opens into summer. The student is already an established Ely High School student with a keen interest in history. He has activities and experiences planned to keep him here in the U.S. through July, including a tour of part of the country. If you have questions or room for a student for a few months, contact Susan Polege at 715-615-2414 or [email protected].
