White Pine 4-H White Pine 4-H has a variety of programs for youth ages 5 to 19 years. There is a range of curriculum and delivery methods through out the county.

White Pine County 4-H has a variety of programs for youth ages 5 to 19 years of age that allows them to develop, create and engage in fun, age-appropriate learning activities. There is a range of curriculum and delivery methods in the different communities of the county. The Nevada State 4-H Program operates on a fiscal year of Oct. 1 through Sept. 30. For most clubs throughout White Pine County 4-H, enrollment is open year-round. There are small annual dues, some clubs may have fees to help cover the cost of supplies, but these expenses are usually minimal and optional. Throughout the year, opportunities abound for 4-H youth. In the summer months, Southern Area 4-H Camp is the place to be. In the Fall, the excitement is focused on the 4-H Kick Off to start the 4-H year off. During the winter, the weekends are full of workshops and leadership trips. The spring months are busy, with livestock season in full bloom and the annual county junior livestock show in mid August. While all these seasonal events are occurring, other 4-H programs, such as arts and craft clubs, shooting sports clubs, and community clubs, are also busy with their own activities. . Tomorrow there will be a sewing meeting at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Ely. The meeting is a makeup meeting for meeting that will be canceled in April (TBD). The meeting is scheduled from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. See ya there!

Hey All! Don't forget that tonight the Ely Cloverbuds are having their meeting. Tonight Cloverbuds (ages 5-8) will be learning about music and self expression through some super fun activities. Enrollment is open, so if you have a child that is interested and between the ages of 5-8 as of January 1, 2017 come on down and enjoy the fun! This clinic was provided by Jasmine, the 4-H coordinator. After the clinic 4-H members were able to identify the role of immunizations in spread of disease, the modes of disease transmission, and know and apply the difference between subcutaneous and intramuscular vaccinations (that is where the bananas are used)!

Name plaques were finally returned to the office and mounted on their awards! For those of you who are first joining 4-H in Ag District 13 these awards are available to 4-H members! The Budding young leader aka *AZ Joy Award* is given to the most inspirational junior 4-H member who turns their record book in for judging. The Dee W. Heckethorn award is given to the most inspirational senior 4-H member who turns their record book in for judging. The Van Gardner Horsemanship award is given to the 4-H member who receives the most grand champions at the horse show. Congratulations to 2016 winners!

Don't forget that the Ely Cloverbuds will be meeting tonight at 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Enrollment is open for children between the ages of 5 -8 as of January 1, 2017. Tonight Cloverbuds will be learning about patriotism through activities. The meeting will be held at the White Pine County Library conference room. Cant wait to see you tonight!
