Team BOREALIS Gives Back at Hidden Valley 💫

This month, eight riders, coaches, and parents from Team BOREALIS partnered with the Ely Nordic Ski and Bike Club to help prepare the trails at Hidden Valley Recreation Area for the start of dirt season.

Together, the group contributed approximately 15 hours of trail cleanup and maintenance—clearing debris, tidying trails, and helping ensure the Hidden Valley trail system is ready for riders to enjoy all season long.

Efforts like these are at the heart of what makes Minnesota’s trail community so special. Trails do not maintain themselves; they rely on volunteers who are willing to show up, lend a hand, and take pride in the places where we ride. Team BOREALIS demonstrated exactly what stewardship looks like: giving back to the trails and communities that support our sport.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to make a difference in Ely.

Community races right here in Ely! Tell your friends!

Friday night bike races at Hidden Valley start this week - May 22nd. $20 for Adults and just $5 for kids under 18. Check-in starts at 5:00 PM, racing starts at 6:00 PM. Proceeds from these events are donated to our local youth MTB organization Team Borealis

Come race hard on the pointy end, or just cruise easy with friends who love to ride. Either way you'll have a blast riding some great trails, hanging with old friends, and meeting some new ones.

Join us at one of our pre-season Check-it-Out rides. May 27, June 5, and June 7. These events are free for students entering grade 6-12 in fall of 2026. No bike? No problem, we’ve got some spares you can borrow, just let use know.

2026 Race schedule is set. Registration for returning riders is open. Details for new rider registration and our Check-it-out rides coming next week. The weather might not look like it yet, but dirt season is coming fast!
