At last night’s Pack Meeting, we saw how much food we collected in our Scouting fo Food Drive, recieved our first awards of the year, celebrated what we are thankful for, and ended with ice cream sundaes for the Scouts (whic we were too busy enjoying to get pictures of).

Tomorrow, Saturday, Nov 15th starting at 7am, your local Cub Scouts will be out collecting the Food Drive bags that we distributed last weekend. To help us out, please note the following:

The food pantry can only accept non-expired items. Please check expiration dates before donating.

It takes the volunteers a long time to sort the items by expiration date. Writing the expiration date on the top of the product in permanent marker will save hours of work!

Leave your donation by your mailbox or end of your driveway with the Scouting for Food tag clearly visible from the street. This stops us from accidentally grabbing grocery deliveries and Amazon packages.

You can donate as much as you want, it doesn’t have to be limited to the brown paper bag provided. Just make sure it is clearly labeled for the food drive.

If we missed your donation or you forget to get it out in time, donations can be brought to the Church anytime and left in the Pantry drop-box near the South entrance. This drop-box is available all year-round.

If you have a youth looking for service hours, we could always use more help with pickup and sorting at the Church. Please send this page a message to see how you can help!

We really appreciate all the generosity of this community. 100% of donations stay local to Elwood and Jackson Township. This is a huge event that really goes a long way to feed local families, more so this year than ever. Thank you in advance for your donations.

The Elwood Community Church and Jackson Township Food Pantry, alongside Elwood Cub Scout Pack 156 will be holding its annual food collection drive on Saturday, Nov 15th. Bags will be distributed to all Elwood neighborhoods by this Saturday at noon.

Please leave your donation near your mailbox or the end of your driveway where it is clearly visible from the street and the Scouts will pick it up on Saturday Nov 15th starting at 7am.

Please help the pantry volunteers out by writing the year/month of the food expiration on the top of the container in marker!!

Tonight is the Trunk or Treat at Elwood School from 6-7pm!

🚗👀 Drivers — be extra alert this Halloween season!
🎃 Kids will be out walking and may not always look before crossing.
🛑 Slow down, especially in neighborhoods.
📱 Put the phone down and watch for excited little ghosts and goblins!
