Anyone who ever benefitted from this page during and following COVID, know that Muggsy Gallagher was always behind the scenes to deliver food to pantries, pick up extra tomatoes and corn from farmers, haul trailer of pumpkins and gourds to pantries, and even, yes, a pallet of candy canes (which we delivered to schools that had food pantries, and to multiple police stations,so cops could share with kids when they went on domestic calls at Christmas).

He put free produce on our picnic table. He helped deliver food trays all over the county at Thanksgiving and Christmas to shut ins, that we made in our kitchen— ingredients Muggsy bought. It has been Muggsy all along who has been helping privately behind the scenes for many, many years.

Now I ask you, what has Judy Ogalla done for Manhattan?

NEED: There has been a special call out need for baby DIAPERS and wipes. If anyone has extras, leftovers in any size, or any other food pantry items, please message this page. We can porch pickup from you Monday evening or Tuesday morning. This is a special request for the Spanish Center in Joliet. We are also collecting SNACKS for Safe Harbor school in Manteno, where kids live full time. We will pickup from your porch and deliver. ~ Erin Gallagher

Something better than more warehouses on 53! The old Mr. B’s is now the new Los Cantatos on 53 in Elwood. Muggsy and I both gave them two thumbs up. The fajitas were spot on with colored peppers, not just all onions and green peppers. We sampled some tacos also but devoured them before we remembered to take photos. They’re still waiting on liquor lisc so try and try again! ~ Erin Gallagher
