We had a great time at our kickoff party today! Our matches did a crossword together to review important TeamMates info, all mentors and mentees got to pick out a fun TeamMates item, and of course, we enjoyed pizza! It’s going to be a terrific year for Elwood TeamMates!

What does it really mean to be a mentor?

You don’t have to be a counselor.
You don’t have to be a tutor.
You don’t need an extraordinary career or all the answers.

You just need to be willing to show up, listen, encourage, care and believe in a student.

Sometimes, the most meaningful thing you can give a young person is your time, attention, and a positive adult friendship.

You could be the mentor a student needs!

It’s TeamMates Annual Conference week! This year’s theme is “The Heart of Mentoring” and has been a great reminder for why we do what we do at Elwood TeamMates.
