Face book asked what’s on my mind 🙂

First many of you have wondered where I have been as I have not been on here much lately or in many of the groups I belong to … I miss catching up with many of you .. read on and hopefully that will help explain

There are many things but tonight one is at the top of the list and that is my mom who I love and care for deeply. She is a beautiful wonderful caring soul who helps so many people and would give you anything if she knew it would help you. She loves people and loves helping and caring for them regardless of any label stereotype economic position there in etc she just loves them..,

For the last four or so months mom has been battling seizures. So on top of AFIB and battling leukemia ( CLL) for 16 years we now have this.

We have been to so many doctors and yet no answers. MY MOM IS A FIGHTER but this has been tough and wearing some days the seizures last over an hour and she may have 3-4 a day and it’s a rare day that she does not have one..

AND SO

After many test and about 15 days in the hospital they have determined she has a rather rate condition called FND or functionalneurological disorder. The best way to understand is to read here

We are scheduled to see , and this is a God miracle a leading neuro psychiatrist who is on a international team researching FND in September. Mom saw him in the hospital at the request of her neurological dr who is a leading specialist in epilipsy and seizures and is good friends with the above neuro psychatrist and he requested that his friend see mom in the hospital and take her on as a patient…. This is just a huge wow ! Something only God could put together

She is still having seizures almost daily often more than once. Which is very draining tiring and frustrating. On good days she has been able to plant some flowers and get out with me. Unfortunately with FND there is no medication that helps or can stop or slow down the seizures.

I dont really want to say much about me rigjt now as I am trying to stay mom focused. Quickly I am still not working, still in therapy, and will likely be applying for disability as funds are getting depleted all due to my injuries in the car accidents but the plus side is I am able to be with here with mom and help and be a full time caregiver. My sister Deb and brother Jon help out as their schedules allow and sister Rebekah helps as she can

Mom has a tough road ahead … My heart at times like tonight really hurts for her but also is very proud and thankful that she has not given up …, that is no easy choice.

Hello all : Here is a mom Stanton update

Hello everyone ... I want to get you an update.
Mom has had a good day today. They have moved her to a new floor and we are still looking for a place to continue her care and move her from the hospital. She is still having some seizures please pray those specifically stop and that she is guarded from bad or tormenting dreams at night and sleep well.

She wanted me to thank all of you for the prayers cards support and tell you she loves and misses you.

Hello amazing friends. I'm just want to get you a update on mom. She is still currently in the hospital here and Owosso and is still having seizure like activity every day multiple times. The neurologist, oncologist, cardiologist are all trying to figure out what’s going on. The nurses and technicians are taking good care of her. She also is continuing to have some increased issues with her a fib and so cardiac care is also on board. Currently she misses you all greatly. It would be a big encouragement to her to hear from you. If you were to send a card on her way that would be awesome! You can send cards to the house and I can get them to her. If you could do that that be awesome. Right now due to alot of what’s happening and some testing that needs done we are looking at maybe and likely transporting her to a different facility. I’ll keep you updated.

Hello all for all of you praying for my mom and our family here is the most recent update.

Hello everyone! A quick update! Not much has changed with mom. They are closer to understanding what is going on but still do not have a 100% clear picture.

She has seen her doctor OT And PT today.

The current plan is to move her to a skilled nursing rehab facility to regain strength in her arms and legs .. we are not sure which one year she will also be getting a 24 EEG they don't do those in Owosso .. and so it will be schedule via referal at a hospital that does.

Lots of continued prayer is needed and appreciated.

Hello everyone:

I wanted to get everyone an update. Mom has been moved out of the ER and is in a normal room now next to a nurses station where they can closely monitor her.

She is still having some seizures but not near as many which is good.

She has a team of doctors working with her and a nursing team that is good as well and of course Dr Jesus is the best of all!!!

They are working with some new medications and will be running a test on Monday that they can't run over the weekend. That is the current plan.

Your prayers are working!

We will be having church tomorrow if you would like to bring a card as visitation from none family is not currently approved or you can send a card to the house.

Hello all : A quick update. Mom is still in ER waiting for a room to open up. She is doing some better. The seizure type activity has settled down for now which is good as it is giving her body and mind a much needed break.

Her afib attacks have also slowed down. The plan is still to admit her tonight and consult with neurology and see what they want to do perhaps later tonight and tomorrow. The hard part is catching her having an event when the monitor is on.

Hello friends and family : WE WILL BE HAVING A GATHERING TOMMORROW IN THE FELLOWSHIP HALL.

Please drive safely there are some drifts on Juddville but as of right now they are not that bad.. there may be less on Carland rd.

Some praise the Lords:

The pipes have been paid for : total bill was $ 634 Money from savings and your giving covered the cost thank you to all who gave!!!

We are still believing for money to cover the $932 bill to fix the furnace in the sanctuary

Pastor Dave's blood work came back good and his legs are healing well at this point they have sone healing yet to go but are getting there

Several people are still finding money

Madi who we were prayer for who was in a horrible car wreck caused by a drunk driver just passed her one year anniversary and is doing amazing please keep praying for continued healing.

Living our Grounding Virtues.

"Dear Friends,

I can’t count the number of people I’ve encountered across the last weeks who have reported that they are deleting apps, limiting their consumption of news, boycotting or disrupting the barrage of information overwhelm. I’m beginning to see this as a spiritual discipline for being alive in this time. It is not to be confused with disengagement or passivity. It may be an essential tool for sanity, and a key to discerning and sustaining a sense of agency for the time ahead.

I find myself pondering my long-ago conversation with Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen, which remains one of my most treasured. She told me the ancient story, as her Hasidic grandfather had told it to her, behind the Jewish ethical imperative to “repair the world.” In the beginning of creation, the light of the universe was shattered into a million million pieces, which lodged as shards inside everything and everyone. Our calling, as human beings, is to look for the light from where we stand, to call it out, to gather it up — and in so doing, to help repair the world.

I said to her then, and am keenly aware as I write now, that a story like this could sound like a mild and sweet — far too mild and sweet — offering into the gravity of this world. She countered that stories, whether we acknowledge this truth as serious or not, are the flesh on the bones of the facts of our lives — and, I would add, of our life together. We’re muting our news feeds because the stories they tell are not just informing us but shaping us, taking hold of our minds and hearts and nervous systems and limiting or galvanizing forces of hope and despair, groundedness and action.

The pragmatism and wisdom of her grandfather’s sacred story, Rachel told me, is in how it calls each of us to help repair the part of the world that we can see and touch.

There, the very quality of our presence to others, moment to moment, is powerful — an ordinary power we scarcely appreciate to “make someone’s day” with patience, kindness, generosity, gentle words. There too, in the places we can see and touch, we can cultivate the “proximity” Bryan Stevenson counsels as key to meaningfully attend to the hardest chasms and wounds in our world. In proximity we can tangibly approach understanding and intelligence and impact that most of us cannot begin to exercise over most of this hour’s unfurling news.

It feels important for me to say that when I speak of the general tumult and distress of being alive now, I know we are feeling this on every side of our life together, every side (and of course there are far more than two sides) of every issue. A burning reason in my mind that we must stop fixating on distant levels of power — as that barrage would have us do — is that our country needs healing. That healing is not merely political. The American (and global) political drama is a symptom of pain and fear, of uprooting magnitudes of change, of dreams and hopes shattered and betrayed, and alienation from each other and ourselves.

"Civility" is a word I’ve used sparingly in these years — as also perhaps too sweet, too mild. But I’m circling back to my own call to what we name “Adventurous Civility” in the Grounding Virtues of the On Being Civil Conversations Project: the creation of spaces and relationships where we hold and honor the meaningful and important differences between us — yet insist that what divides us now does not have to define what might be possible between us. I invite you to explore these Civil Conversations materials, and the Grounding Virtues, which many groups have used across time to have new conversations: hard conversations that give life."

Hello friends:

There will be no gathering at the church again this Sunday due to a frozen and broken pipes issue. The plumber who was scheduled to come had to cancel.

As I said last week we have seen God do many miraculous things in regards to this facility and we are believing God to do so again!

Your leadership team is looking at ways to resolve this. Currently there is not funds/ money in the checking account to make the repairs. We will have a total estimate once the plumber is on site and can see exactly what needs done. Some funds have come in for this project and we are trusting God will bring enough in to cover the entire cost.

Please be praying for provision and wisdom.

I will keep you all in the loop.
