🐾 Have You Ever Wondered Why So Many Stray Pets Are on the Streets in Our Community? 🐾

The truth is, there is no single cause—and no single group to blame. The stray animal crisis is the result of many failures happening at once.

🚫 Some irresponsible pet owners abandon unwanted pets, leaving them to fend for themselves.

🏛️ Too often, local tax-funded shelters deny intake, create barriers, or use harmful deflection tactics that leave animals with nowhere to go.

🐶🐱 When homeless animals are left in the streets unaltered, they continue to reproduce—adding more litters to an already overwhelmed community. By refusing intake and allowing this cycle to continue, the local shelter effectively becomes the largest unregistered breeder in the community.

💰 Small-scale breeders also play a role, though many of those animals are sold rather than abandoned because of their monetary value.

⚠️ And some rescues or shelters return unaltered animals back into the community through adoption programs, where they can continue reproducing and adding to the crisis.

This problem did not happen overnight, and it will not be solved overnight. It takes accountability, real leadership, and a commitment to prevention.

Take a look at these wonderful follow-up photos of our alumni living their best lives! 🐶🐱

There is something incredibly special about watching former foster pets flourish in their forever homes. We love our former fosters so much, and it brings us tremendous joy to see them happy, healthy, and surrounded by the families who chose to love them.

Thanks to your support, these pets were given the opportunity for a fresh start—and today they are enjoying the lives they deserve.

Our commitment to these pets doesn't end when they leave our care. Each month, our dedicated volunteers reach out to adopters with reminders about annual vaccines and other preventative healthcare needs to help keep pets healthy for years to come.

One of the highlights of these follow-ups is receiving photos and videos from families. Seeing our former fosters growing, playing, snuggling, and making memories with their families is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. 💙
