From dream to reality: K.U.R.E.-LP 106.1 FM went on the air at Desert Rose Baha’i Institute, in the No. Toltec area of Eloy, AZ., in August 2017, broadcasting locally to Eloy, Casa Grande, Coolidge, Arizona City and other nearby points. A year later we went online at KURE-LP.org and now can be heard all over the world. For some years the station was the dream of Virginia Healey, Marguerite Sears (Sr. and Jr.) and others at Desert Rose who sought a way to serve the people of their surrounding communities -- Eloy, Coolidge, Arizona City, Casa Grande and nearby points. In December, 2016, a new arrival at Desert Rose rode into the rodeo (so to speak) and started toiling to meet the deadline for the first broadcast: June, 2017. If K.U.R.E.-LP wasn’t sending out a signal by then, the FCC license would run out, and another license was not available! Making the impossible possible, Christopher Ruhe wrestled the station into existence and got it on the air well before the deadline. After broadcasting for 6 hrs. daily, 6 days a week, it now broadcasts 24-7, music interspersed with specialty and talk shows spanning a range of community interests and activities.
