Are you a high school graduate (or soon to be) and interested in a fire service and emergency medical career? Are you not sure where to start or how to break into this exciting and rewarding field? Applications for Eloy Fire Apprentice will open soon!
What is an Eloy Fire Apprentice? More than a traditional cadet program, an Eloy Fire Apprentice will earn a wage (up to 30 hours per week) working and training alongside Eloy Fire crews. Additionally, Apprentices are provided with all EMT and firefighter training free of cost. Once these career certifications are complete, Apprentices are moved into reserve or career status as Eloy Firefighters. Successful Apprentices are also then allowed to test for other local fire agencies (if no career positions are immediately available) and will receive mentorship for hiring processes.
The ideal candidate:
- Is a high school graduate (or will be by hiring date).
- Has a valid Arizona driver's license.
- Has serious interest in a career in fire/EMS.
- Is interested in serving the community.
- Is honest.
- Is a former athlete or works well in fast-paced, team settings.
- Has a strong interest in science, medicine, construction, sports, physics, engineering, or some combination of the above.
