🍂 **FALL FESTIVAL UPDATE!** 🍂

After looking at the weather forecast and considering some unexpected construction happening in our parking area, we’ve made the difficult decision to RESCHEDULE our Fall Festival that was planned for this Saturday.

We are SO sorry to our vendors, volunteers, community members, and everyone who was looking forward to coming out and having some fall fun with us. ❤️ We promise we’re just as disappointed as you are!

Notice to all home owners in the Altamahaw-Ossipee Fire Department Fire District. If your homeowners insurance renews on or after January 1st 2027 make sure that your homeowners insurance company recognizes our new ISO rating. Our previous rating of a 4/9E has improved to a class 3 rating for the entire fire district, some residents may have been classified in the 9e class previously. This new rating can possibly save you substantially on a homeowners insurance so be sure to check any renewals happening on or after January 1st 2027.

We had a special guest stop by fire training tonight! 🐻🚒

A bear wandered up to the station and decided to check out what we were up to. We’re pretty sure it was Smokey Bear making sure everyone was taking fire safety seriously.

After a brief inspection, Smokey moved on without any complaints. We’d say training was a success!

Remember: It’s a little dry out there, so use caution when burning. 🔥

The burn ban will be officially lifted tomorrow at 8am
Please use your newfound freedom responsibly.

This means:
✅ You may burn brush.
❌ You may not attempt to recreate the Great Chicago Fire in Alamance County.
❌ You may not “just see what happens” if you throw old gasoline or diesel on it. (Gas prices are too high to be doing that anyways)
❌ Your cousin yelling “hold my beer” is still not an approved ignition source.
