Leviticus Fund Leviticus Fund provides flexible capital for the development of affordable housing and community fac

The Leviticus Fund was founded in 1983 by church groups located in the New York metropolitan area who are members of the Tri-State Coalition for Responsible Investment. These founding members were already involved in shareholder advocacy โ€“ using their assets to influence corporate policies that impact the economically poor โ€“ and saw the creation of the Leviticus Fund as a way to directly respond to needs in low-income communities.

The Leviticus Fund presented our 2026 Cornerstone Award to Allyx Schiavone and Friends Center for Children. In this clip, Allyx talks about their visionary Teacher Housing initiative and the support they have received from Leviticus. https://youtu.be/nbyfyfyj6UE?si=2cEZ9NWcuY7GPfzo&t=2

Founded in 2007 in a Quaker meetinghouse in New Haven, CT, Friends Center for Children has grown into one of the city's most innovative early childhood education providers. They serve low-income families through a sliding-scale tuition model, provide teacher housing, and manage a leadership program that opens paid pathways to credentialing for educators of color.

Last year, the Leviticus Fund provided a $2.6 million loan to refinance FCFC's headquarters, freeing up resources to expand programs and serve more families.

Home is where hope lives.

The Leviticus Fund's 2025 Annual Report is here - and behind the $72 million in lending this year are 2,091 affordable homes and the real people who live in them. Families. Seniors. Veterans. Workers priced out of their own communities.

48% of our lending reached areas where households spend more than 30% of their income. We work where the need is strongest - because safe, dignified, affordable homes change everything.

What does a woman who spent her inheritance to help the poor in Ireland in the 1820s have to do with a planned shelter for women in Brooklyn? The common thread is the Sisters of Mercy.

We were pleased to be featured on the Mercy Investment Services website for our lending to Providence House, and are grateful for their continued support! https://leviticusfund.org/supporter-spotlight-sisters-of-mercy/
