October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

NDEAM is an annual recognition of the positive impact of people with disabilities in the American workforce.

The NDEAM theme for 2026 will once again be “Celebrating Value and Talent,” carrying the spirit of last year’s celebration forward through 2026 in honor of America’s 250th birthday.

Across the state of New York, people with disabilities are building careers and strengthening workplaces. Yet people with disabilities still face many barriers to employment.

At OPWDD, we are committed to creating more opportunities for people with developmental disabilities and believe National Employment Disability Month is not only a month of recognition but a call to action. Like and share this post to help us spread that message and grow New York’s inclusive workforce.
